Round Rock ISD’s school board race focuses on the major disagreements in education policy
November 01, 2022
Whether it is debates over the sexualization of children, teaching about gender identity, or falsely revising American history, Round Rock’s school board race candidates are taking opposing sides in what is becoming the next hotly contested school board race in Texas. Five seats are up for election, ensuring that election day, November 8, will determine the direction the school board follows.
The Round Rock school board in recent years has been marked by accusations, lawsuits and censure motions. Bone and Weston have long been at odds with the other five board members over issues ranging from mask mandates in schools to the hiring of Azaiez as superintendent in June 2021.
