School Board Meeting Spotlight: Parents in Harrisonburg stand up to stop the sexualization of their children

On Tuesday night a Harrisonburg school board meeting became the next Virginia school district to have empowered parentsstanding up for their children. Due to disagreements over Gov. Youngkin’s proposed pro-parent policies that would prevent sexual materials in schools, parents and students took to the school board meeting to voice their opinions on such policies.
“Many students like me are put into uncomfortable situations where they are forced to comply with the request of another party to call them by a specific pronoun that is against their personal beliefs. My question is, do you have the legal power to dictate what comes out of our mouths?” he said.
